Luxa 800 Retractable Louvre Roof System

LRS 800

Slide the louvres aside, and the sky comes back.

Some pergolas open and close. The Luxa Sereno 700 is one of those. The Aperio 800 does something else: when you want clear sky, it gives you clear sky. The aluminium louvres slide along precision rails and stack to one side — your covered terrace becomes a completely open outdoor space, ready for stargazing, an unfiltered sunrise breakfast, or a garden party where the air moves freely. When the storm arrives, the louvres slide back, rotate to seal, and the rain runs concealed inside the columns. A dual radio control drive moves both axes — angle (135°) and slide — independently, controlled by remote, smartphone app, or voice. Built from extruded 6063-T5 aluminium with QUALICOAT Class 2 powder coat in any RAL colour, motor sealed to IP44, tested to EN 1991-1-1, 1-3 and 1-4. Integrated rain and wind sensors close the roof automatically when you're away.

PRODUCT DECISION GUIDE

When Luxa Aperio 800 is the right retractable roof.

Use this product when the project needs a premium louvre roof that can close for protection and retract to bring back open sky.

Suitable projects

Aperio 800 is for terraces where daylight, ventilation and premium experience are part of the brief, not only rain protection.

  • Restaurants and rooftop seating
  • Villas where open-sky use matters
  • Premium terraces that need both closure and full opening

Check before quote

The key early checks are retraction stack direction, motor/control routing, side enclosure planning and exposure assumptions.

  • Blade stack side and clearance
  • Electrical and control preparation
  • Wind, rain and side-screen compatibility

Specifier handoff

Compare Aperio 800 with fixed bioclimatic pergolas so the buyer sees the premium value of full retraction before budget is locked.

  • Open-sky requirement confirmed
  • Comparison against Sereno pergolas
  • Quote after stack direction and exposure are clear

LuxaShadeFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions.

The Luxa Sereno 700 rotates fixed louvres for shade and ventilation control but they stay in place. The Luxa 800 louvres both rotate AND slide — they stack compactly at one end to reveal a completely open sky. When closed, both systems provide waterproof protection, but only the Luxa 800 offers the full open-air experience.

When fully retracted, the Luxa 800 louvres stack into a compact package occupying approximately 15–20% of the total roof area, depending on module dimensions. The remaining 80–85% is completely open sky.

Yes. The Luxa 800 uses a dual-motor system: one motor controls the louvre blade rotation (0–135°), and a second motor drives the sliding mechanism. Both can be operated independently via remote control, smartphone app, or smart home integration.

Yes. When the louvres are fully closed, the double-walled blades interlock to form a sealed waterproof surface. An integrated drainage system channels rainwater through concealed gutters into the hollow columns. The wider gutter profile handles heavy rainfall.

All components — double-walled louvre blades, precision slide rails, beams, and columns — are manufactured from extruded 6063-T5 aluminium alloy with QUALICOAT Class 2 powder coat. All fasteners are stainless steel. Aluminium is 98% recyclable.

Standard modules: 3×3, 3×4, 3×5, 4×4, 4×5, and 4×6 metres. Multiple modules can be coupled for larger terraces. The sliding direction is customisable — stack towards the house wall or towards the garden.

Yes. The Luxa 800 motors are compatible with radio control protocol, integrating with cloud hub, voice control, automation gateway, and automation gateway. Optional rain and wind sensors trigger automatic roof closure.

Requirements vary by country. In Germany, retractable roofs under 30 m² are often permit-free. In France, structures under 20 m² typically require a déclaration préalable. A retractable roof may be treated differently from a fixed structure — consult your local authority. Your PONARC dealer provides structural documentation.

Clean blades, rails, and frame 2–3 times per year with water and mild soap. Keep the slide rails free of debris for smooth operation. Clear drainage channels before autumn. Lubricate the sliding mechanism annually. The powder coat requires no repainting.

The Luxa 800 is positioned above the Luxa Sereno 700 due to the dual-motor system and precision slide rails. The price varies by module size, colour, and accessories. Request a personalised quote — consultation and measurement are free.

Luxa 800 snow load is confirmed by EN 1991 project review in closed position. The system includes a temperature sensor that can open louvres below 4°C to reduce snow accumulation risk.
